TANZANIA: Armyworms Destroy 280ha of Maize Farms in Sumbawanga
TANZANIA: An armyworm outbreak in Muze Ward, Sumbawanga District, has resulted in the destruction of more than 280 hectares of maize crop. The armyworms are reported to have, for the past two weeks, adversely destroyed farms along the Lake Rukwa Basin, something that is inflicting fear in farmers in the surrounding areas that more fields will be attacked.
