Latest African Armyworm Forecast from IRLCO-CSA – 5th Oct 2015
SYNOPSIS: There were no reports of African armyworm (Spodoptera exempta, Walker) outbreaks from any IRLCO-CSA Member countries. Armyworm season in the region commences with onset of the rains in October/November. Servicing of pheromone traps in Member countries is in progress.

CURRENT SITUATION:
There were no reports of Armyworm outbreaks in any of the IRLCO-CSA Member Countries. Trap operators are advised to service the pheromone traps in readiness for the 2015/2016 Armyworm season.

OUTLOOK (Oct – Dec 2015):
The 2015/2016 Armyworm season in the IRLCO-CSA region commences with onset of the rains which is normally in October/November.
Armyworm trap operators are requested to ensure that their traps are serviced monitored and submit their moth catches to their respective National Forecasting Officer and/or village forecasters.
