SYNOPSIS: There were no reports of African armyworm (Spodoptera exempta Walker) outbreaks from any Member State.

CURRENT SITUATION:
There were no reports of armyworm outbreaks from any Member Country.

OUTLOOK (Mar – May 2015):
The risk of armyworm outbreaks will diminish in Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe as the rainy season will come to an end. In Kenya and northern Tanzania, armyworm outbreaks may occur as the region will continue receiving rains.
